Deprem saat 12.49'da meydana geldi. Çevre illerde de hissedilen depremin büyüklüğünü AFAD 6,2 olarak açıkladı.

Kandilli depremin 6.1 büyülüğünde olduğunu açıkladı. Marmara Denizi'ndeki 6,2 büyüklüğündeki depremin ardından bu sarsıntının İstanbul çevresindeki fay hatlarını nasıl etkileyebileceği merak konusu oldu.

Guterres, BM'nin İklim ve Adil Geçiş Üzerine Çevrimiçi Liderler Toplantısı'nda yaptığı konuşmanın ardından gazetecilere yaptığı açıklamada, İstanbul'da meydana gelen depremlere ilişkin, "Bu zor zamanlarda Türk devleti ve halkıyla tam dayanışma içindeyiz" diye konuştu.
